1950~

Dec. 1951 Hirata Sharyo Industrial Co., Ltd. established in Kumamoto with JPY 1 million in capital to manufacture and market industrial vehicles.
Dec. 1959 Started manufacturing belt conveyors and slat conveyors.

1960~

May. 1964 Hirata delivers its first television assembly line, entering the in-factory production equipment field.
Jul. 1964 Ueki Plant (now Kumamoto Plant) built in Ueki Town, Kumamoto City Kumamoto Pref.
Aug. 1968 Kanto Plant built in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Pref.

1970~

Oct. 1970 Started making free-flow conveyors with newly invented chains.
Aug. 1974 Hirata Industrial Commerce and Taihei Conveyors merge to form Hirata Corporation.
Dec. 1977 Development of Cartesian coordinate robot NC control XY table "Machine Base".
Jun. 1979 First order for a transmission assembly line received from an automotive maker.

1980~

Feb. 1980 Hirata Corporation of America founded in IN, U.S.A. as a subsidiary.
Jul. 1980 Development of Arm Base horizontal multi-joint 4-axis robot.
Oct. 1980 Yasunari Hirata and three others established Taihei Kosan Co., Ltd. in Ueki Town, Kamoto District, Kumamoto Pref. (now Kumamoto City).
Mar. 1981 Kansai Plant built in Yasu City, Shiga Pref.
Mar. 1981 Headquarters moved to Shinagawa in Tokyo.
Apr. 1984 Robot Plant (now Kusuno Plant) built in Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Pref.
Mar. 1986 Taihei Computer Co., Ltd. founded in Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Pref. (Taihei Computer Co., Ltd. changed its name to Trinity Inc. in May 2011 and is now a consolidated subsidiary).
Jan. 1988 Direct drive robot "AR-DD2700" given award by Nihon Keizai Shinbun.
Nov. 1988 Kumamoto East Plant built in Ueki Town, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Pref.

Jan. 1991 Hirata FA Engineering (S) Pte Ltd founded in Singapore as a subsidiary.
Feb. 1992 Taiheikosan Co., Ltd. becomes a subsidiary company (Taiheikosan Co., Ltd. changed its name to Taihei Technos Co., Ltd in Apr. 2008 and is now a consolidated subsidiary).
Nov. 1993 Hirata Robotics GmbH founded in Germany as a subsidiary (Hirata Robotics GmbH changed its name to Hirata Engineering Europe GmbH in Jul. 2011 and is now a consolidated subsidiary).
Apr. 1994 Development of AR-K robot series for use in transport in clean rooms.
May. 1999 Hirata Koei Co., Ltd. established in Ueki Town, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Pref.(Hirata Koei Co., Ltd. changed its name to Hirata Field Engineering Co., Ltd. in Feb. 2007 and is now a consolidated subsidiary).
Aug. 1999 Shanghai Hirata Mechanical Engineering Co., Ltd. founded in China as a subsidiary (Shanghai Hirata Mechanical Engineering Co., Ltd. changed its name to Hirata Mechanical Equipment Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in Mar. 2009 and is now a consolidated subsidiary).

2000~

May. 2000 Hirata Engineering S.A. DE C.V. founded in Mexico as a subsidiary.
Oct. 2001 Development of "Head-Coater" resist coating appliance with built-in spinless coating unit for FPD use.
Feb. 2003 Obtained ISO 14001 certification in the Kumamoto and Kanto areas.
Apr. 2003 All business divisions obtained ISO 9001 certification.
Aug. 2004 Hirata Engineering (Thailand) Co., Ltd. founded in Thailand as a subsidiary.
Oct. 2006 Hirata Automated Machinery (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. established in China (now a consolidated subsidiary).
Dec. 2006 Taiwan Hirata Corporation established (now a consolidated subsidiary).
Dec. 2006 Stock listed on JASDAQ(Tokyo Securities Exchange JASDAQ) Securities Exchange.
Feb. 2007 Changed the trade name of Hirata Koei Co., Ltd. to Hirata Field Engineering Co., Ltd. (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Jan. 2008 Shichijo Plant built in Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Pref.
Apr. 2008 Changed the trade name of Taihei Kosan Co., Ltd. to Taihei Technos Co., Ltd. (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Dec. 2009 Changed the trade name of Shanghai Hirata Mechanical Engineering Co., Ltd. to Hirata Mechanical Equipment Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

2010~

May. 2011 Changed the trade name of Taihei Computer Co., Ltd. to Trinity, Inc. (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Jul. 2011 Changed the trade name of HIRATA Robotics GmbH to HIRATA Engineering Europe GmbH (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Dec. 2012 Hirata FA Engineering(M)Sdn. Bhd. established (now a consolidated subsidiary).
Oct. 2014 The Fully Automatic Continuous Slicer Tissue-Tek Smart Section, which Hirata designs and manufactures under contract for Sakura Finetek Japan Co., Ltd., received the Chairman’s Award of the Japan Machinery Federation at the 6th Robot Award, jointly with Sakura Finetek Japan.
Jun. 2016 Headquarters moved to Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Pref.
Jun. 2017 Change of our Stock Market Listing to the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

2020~

Jun. 2020 Headquarters building was completed at Kumamoto factory.
Mar. 2021 Changed the trade name of Hirata Mechanical Equipment Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. to Hirata TSUSHO (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Apr. 2022 Transitioned from the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange to the Prime Market following the market segment reorganization.
Apr. 2025 Implemented a three-for-one split of common shares, with Mar. 31, 2025 as the record date and Apr. 1, 2025 as the effective date.
