1950~

Dec. 1951 Hirata Sharyo Industrial Co., Ltd. established in Kumamoto with JPY 1 million in capital to manufacture and market industrial vehicles.
Dec. 1959 Began manufacturing belt conveyors and slat conveyors.

1960~

May. 1964 Delivered the company’s first television assembly line, entering the in-factory production equipment field.
Jul. 1964 Established the Ueki Plant in Ueki-machi, Kamoto District, Kumamoto Prefecture (now Kumamoto City; currently the Kumamoto Plant).
Aug. 1968 Established the Kanto Plant in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture.

1970~

Oct. 1970 Began manufacturing free-flow conveyors using a newly developed chain.
Aug. 1974 Hirata Industrial Commerce and Taihei Conveyors merge(d) to form Hirata Corporation.
Dec. 1977 Developed a Cartesian-coordinate robot, the NC-controlled XY table.
Jun. 1979 Received the company’s first order for a transmission assembly line from an automobile manufacturer.

1980~

Feb. 1980 Established HIRATA Corporation of America in Indiana, U.S.A. (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Jul. 1980 Developed a horizontal articulated four-axis robot, Arm Base.
Oct. 1980 Yasunari Hirata and three others established Taihei Kosan Co., Ltd. in Ueki-machi, Kamoto District, Kumamoto Prefecture (now Kumamoto City).
Mar. 1981 Established the Kansai Plant in Yasu-machi, Yasu District, Shiga Prefecture (now Yasu City).
Mar. 1981 Relocated the head office to Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo.
Apr. 1984 Established the Robot Plant in Kumamoto City (now the Kusuno Plant).
Mar. 1986 Established Taihei Computer Co., Ltd. in Kumamoto City.
Jan. 1988 The direct-drive robot AR-DD2700 received the Nikkei Sangyo Shimbun Award.
Nov. 1988 Established the Kumamoto East Plant in Ueki-machi, Kamoto District, Kumamoto Prefecture (now Kumamoto City).

1990~

Jan. 1991 Established HIRATA FA Engineering (S) Pte. Ltd. in Singapore (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Feb. 1992 Made Taihei Kosan Co., Ltd. a subsidiary of the Company.
Nov. 1993 Established HIRATA Robotics GmbH in Germany.
Apr. 1994 Developed the AR-K series of cleanroom transport robots.
May. 1999 Established Hirata Koei Co., Ltd. in Ueki-machi, Kamoto District, Kumamoto Prefecture (now Kumamoto City).
Aug. 1999 Established Shanghai Hirata Mechanical Engineering Co., Ltd. in China.subsidiary).

2000~

May. 2000 Established HIRATA FA Engineering (S) Pte. Ltd. in Singapore (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Oct. 2001 Developed the Head Coater, an FPD photoresist coating system equipped with a slit-type coating unit.
Feb. 2003 Obtained ISO 14001 certification in the Kumamoto and Kanto areas.
Apr. 2003 All business divisions obtained ISO 9001 certification.
Aug. 2004 Established HIRATA Engineering (THAILAND) Co., Ltd. in Thailand (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Oct. 2006 Established Hirata Kiko Automation Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in China (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Dec. 2006 Established Hirata Kiko Automation Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in China (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Dec. 2006 Listed shares on the JASDAQ Securities Exchange.
Feb. 2007 Changed the trade name of Hirata Koei Co., Ltd. to Hirata Field Engineering Co., Ltd. (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
May. 2007 Developed a Generation-10 glass substrate transfer robot.
Jan. 2008 Established the Shichijo Plant in Shichijo-machi, Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture.
Nov. 2008 Changed the trade name of Taihei Kosan Co., Ltd. to Taihei Technos Co., Ltd. (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Dec. 2009 Changed the trade name of Shanghai Hirata Mechanical Engineering Co., Ltd. to Hirata Machinery Equipment Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

2010~

May. 2011 Changed the trade name of Taihei Computer Co., Ltd. to Trinity, Inc. (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Jul. 2011 Changed the trade name of HIRATA Robotics GmbH to HIRATA Engineering Europe GmbH (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Dec. 2012 Established HIRATA FA Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Jun. 2016 Relocated the head office to Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture.
Jun. 2017 Transferred listing to the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

2020~

Jun. 2020 Completed the Headquarters Building at the Kumamoto Plant.
Mar. 2021 Changed the trade name of Hirata Machinery Equipment Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. to Hirata Trading (Shanghai) Industrial Co., Ltd. (currently a consolidated subsidiary).
Apr. 2022 Following the Tokyo Stock Exchange’s market restructuring, transitioned from the First Section to the Prime Market.
Apr. 2025 Implemented a three-for-one split of common shares, with Mar. 31, 2025 as the record date and Apr. 1, 2025 as the effective date.
